When filming the pilot episode back in 2012, we could never have imagined that The Delia Online Cookery School with Waitrose would have blossomed into such a huge success. Today the fifth term launches in a flurry of pasta and rice.
Throughout the past two years this fascinating series has enabled hundreds of thousands of online viewers to master the perfect cake, boil the perfect egg, stir the simplest of sauces and bake the very best bread. It is without doubt one of Hotpot’s most enjoyable projects, as Executive Producer Graham Sherrington explains:
“Working alongside Delia and her team was a huge honour from day one, but I had no idea that dozens of recipes later we would still be making these really informative and useful films.
Huge numbers of keen cooks across the world are watching and learning, which to me really proves the power of well produced online content. I couldn’t be happier with all that we have been a part of and look forward to another series next year.”
Simply titled – Pasta and Rice, this latest instalment tackles how to cook both perfectly with some of Delia’s best loved recipes making their first appearance like her classic lasagne, eaten by the plate load by our crew throughout filming back in July.
Term 5 also marks a new look to the Delia Online website, where you will find an ever growing library of lessons, recipes and video techniques. A quick glance will showcase just how many online videos have been created; all are also available on Waitrose TV.
This has to be the most comprehensive step by step recipe series online; a unique project created by Delia herself and, let’s be honest, who better to go on teaching the world how to cook?
