Hotpot Pictures commissions 422 Post Production

Manchester-based television and film post production company 422.tv has been re-commisssioned by production company Hotpot Pictures to provide post-production for series four of the ‘Delia Online with Waitrose’ cookery series. This follows the successful completion of series two and series three, the latter of which went live this month. 422.tv worked in partnership with Hotpot Pictures to mange the post-production requirements for the six eight-minute lessons.

The series of short lessons provide a basic introduction to cooking which can be accessed via Delia Online and the Waitrose TV websites. With simple step-by-step instructions each lesson incorporates additional video techniques to demonstrate how things should look during the cooking process in a modern equivalent alternative to the print-based cookery book.

Hotpot Pictures was looking for a northern-based post-production facility with the ability to provide multiple editing suites on the go at any one time. Management of the workflow of the project was a key requirement, incorporating fast turnarounds for editing and approvals by Delia’s team. 422.tv met the brief and also provided its in-house online editor to grade the final lessons in the Avid Symphony suite. The team was led by project manager Jennifer Brandwood at 422.tv.

Sarah Turner, Production Manager at Hotpot Pictures, comments:

“From the outset, when reviewing the market for a northern-based editing facility, 422.tv stood out strongly from the crowd.  The 422.tv team provided everything I asked for, hitting very tight timescales every time and were very professional and easy to work with.  The management of the workflow was absolutely superb; not only were they technically apt, they are a really dynamic team who clearly enjoy their work and the environment in which they work.”

Damien Lynch, Managing Director at 422.tv, says:

“This is an excellent example of strong teamwork between us and Hotpot.  Together we have streamlined the workflow process to ensure everything is kept on track, without compromising quality.  We know that Delia has a strong passion and personal investment in her Online Cookery School and we took great care to bring this to life, using the latest video techniques to deliver high quality results.”
