The first eight episodes – Delia Smith’s first adventure into online video content, will be broadcast on 28th February 2013.
Films will feature step-by-step instructions that anyone can follow at home. The route to making the perfect cake – based on Smith’s book Delia’s Cakes, is to be well sign-posted across all campaign media. Dedicated fans await the mouth-watering prospect.
Hotpot Pictures is the powerhouse behind the web films and has already been commissioned to produce a second series. The project is set to draw large online viewing figures. To Hotpot’s founder Graham Sherrington, it’s all about conveying a personality.
“Having worked with Delia on the recipe campaign for Waitrose, this was the perfect opportunity to bring high production values and distinctive visuals to her first online video venture – it’s an incredibly exciting project and getting the chance to sample her delicious cakes was the biggest perk of all.”
Filming was driven by an energy that demanded perfection at every stage. Shot in London over two weeks, meticulous attention was paid to how well everything looked onscreen. The outcome reflects Delia’s own uncompromising values.

Graham is no stranger to working with high profile talent. As well as previous work on Top Gear and Young Apprentice, he’s worked closely with Gordon Ramsay, Heston Blumenthal and helped create Nigel Slater’s Suppers for BBC1.
